Postbox in Glinton commemorates Armistice Day
This EIIR pillar box (box no. PE6 100) outside the post office and general store on High Street was "yarn bombed" with a suitably-themed postbox topper decorated with crocheted poppies to commemorate Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day in November 2024.
The Royal Mail has no objections to the unofficial decorating of its postboxes in this manner, a phenomenon known as "yarn bombing", provided that the slot is not obstructed so that customers are still able to post items and its staff are not hindered in collecting mail from the boxes.
