Newton Cap Viaduct
Newton Cap Viaduct
A cold, still, mid-November morning with a residue of mist which has collected overnight in the Wear valley - the river is out of view to the right, hidden by a screen of bushes.
The viaduct of course now carries a road. It was built for railway use but became disused in 1968. It had a time as part of a railway path but was converted in the 1990s for road use.
