Former ADRDE site at Earl's Croome
These buildings viewed from the road near Stonehall in Earl's Croome road date from World War II when this site was built as a Trials Unit to support the ADRDE (Army Defence Research & Development Establishment) at Pale Manor at nearby Malvern. A unit moved here in September 1942 from Woodyates, near Salesbury. Some of the officers stationed here were billeted at Earl's Croome Court, half a mile away in the village of Earl's Croome. In the early 1970s, I can remember a barrage balloon tethered here.
