Exton station serves the village of Exton. It is situated on the Avocet Line which runs between Exeter St Davids and Exmouth. The station is a request stop only. It opened in 1861.

The Avocet Line is the railway line in Devon connecting Exeter with Exmouth Link . It was originally built by the London and South Western Railway. The line follows the Exe Estuary for most of its route, giving views of the estuary. The line is named after the Pied Avocet, which live in the estuary. Opened in 1861.

The old railway company that built the lines to connect London to Wales and the South West. Isambard Kingdom Brunel (see TQ3080 : Statue of IK Brunel) designed and built much of the route between London and Penzance. Link
