The lane down the Sowton Brook valley makes a pair of bends to cross a tributary of the brook immediately before the two streams combine SX8390 : Sowton Brook at Shepherd's Ford. "The ford has been replaced by a bridge" SX8390 : Holcombe Burnell: Shepherd's Ford, although the maps still mark a ford here. I suppose it counts as an Irish ford.
