Cullen Viaduct
When the railway was being planned, the then Countess of Seafield is said to have flatly refused to countenance the line passing through the grounds of Cullen House, so the engineers had to build a series of viaducts to carry the trackbed into Cullen. Actually, even if the lady had not objected, the terrain is such that viaducts would still have been needed, only on a slightly different site. The line has been redeveloped as a walking and cycling route, part of the Moray Coastal Trail and of National Cycle Route No 1, and there are fine view from the top if you are tall enough to see over the parapets.
