Nature magnified Sculpture
Nature magnified Sculpture
A series of three galvanised steel sculptures by Anwick Forge in 2010, each portrays a tableau of local flora, fauna and more exotic plants from the other side of the world. They are based on the idea of looking at nature’s richness through a magnifying glass. They celebrate the work of Sir Joseph Banks, the eminent botanist who accompanied Captain James Cook ‘s first south Pacific expedition on HM Bark Endeavour to Australia, New Zealand and South America in 1756. He spent his early childhood near Horncastle at the family’s Revesby estate.
