Damage caused in Tipperary Woods by Storm Darragh
Newcastle, Co Down, fortunately avoided much of the disruption caused by this deep depression with its hurricane force winds and intense rainfall experienced in other parts of the Irish Sea area. The worst damage in the Newcastle area was the uprooting of mostly small trees along the line of Tipperary Lane and coastal flooding on the South Promenade.
