The Tontine Hotel in Ironbridge, Shropshire, was built in 1780–84 by the proprietors of The Iron Bridge to accommodate tourists who came to view bridge. The hotel was funded using the tontine scheme which was an investment scheme where subscribers took shares in an investment, and received income. As each subscriber died their share was distributed among the remaining subscribers. When the last subscriber died the scheme is wound up. The scheme is now illegal in the UK as it was prone to fraud.

The hotel is grade II star listed. It was designed by John Haycock (1759-1830) to provide accommodation for visitors visiting The Iron Bridge. The hotel is in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
