Battle of Worcester - Scottish Memorial
Unveiled at Old Powick Bridge by Tam Dalyell, Parliamentarian and Father of the House in 2001 to mark the 350th anniversary of the final battle in the Civil Wars. A largely Scots Royalist army was defeated by the Parliamentary forces led by Oliver Cromwell. Tam Dalyell's ancestor General Tam Dalyell fought with the Royalist forces and was captured during the battle later escaping from the Tower of London.
