The Furness Brick & Tile Company Ltd. is a family owned firm established in 1845. The works uses a coal fired continuous kiln to fire local clay and specialises in producing non-standard, heritage, special and bespoke bricks.
An interesting variety of bricks and paviours are stacked in the yard in the foreground; some appear to have been there for a considerable time.
