Reid's the jewellers, Blackett Street
A well known jewellery shop in Newcastle city centre. The building is called Gem House, and dates from 1904 by architects Newcombe and Newcombe. The Art Nouveau shop front was designed in 1906 by Benjamin Simpson and has been retained ever since. One of Newcastle's best loved buildings.
