Just left of centre is Cawfields Lake in the former Cawfields Quarry. In operation from 1902 to 1952 for extraction of roadstone, the quarry destroyed a section of Hadrian’s Wall. Link

and reaches an elevation of 345 m/1,132 at Winshield Crags, Link 3.2 km/2 miles east of Cawfields Lake. That’s the highest point of the entire wall. Link
The Pennine Way runs along this section of Hadrian’s Wall and Cawfields is also notable as a Dark Sky Discovery Site that’s ideal for stargazing within the larger Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. Link
