Doorway to the former Turks Head Hotel
Doorway to the former Turks Head Hotel
The hotel was built in 1137 as part of the new Grey Street during Richard Grainger's rebuilding of Newcastles city centre. It eventually closed in the 1980's and was taken over by Barclays Bank until 2014. It is now offices and apartments. The blue plaque commemorates the Suffragettes who met in the hotel during the early 20th century.
