Upgraded sidings at Blackburn station
Since my previous photo nearly ten years earlier SD6827 : Engineers' train at Blackburn station the sidings look to have been relaid, with walkways and lighting bollards.
Blackburn railway station

There has been a station on the current site since 1846, originally belonging to the Blackburn and Preston Railway. Ownership subsequently passed to the East Lancashire Railway, the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. London Midland & Scottish Railway, British Rail(ways) and now Northern Rail (a publicly owned company). The main station building, erected c.1886-8, is grade II listed (list entry 1261389). See the Wikipedia entry for a more detailed history.
