Municipal Boundary Marker against the front wall of the wall of Square & Compass PH, on the northeast side of the B5057 Main Road. Darley Dale parish. Inscribed NORTH / DARLEY and SOUTH / DARLEY on adjacent faces, it marked the boundary of North and South Darley Urban Sanitary District, from 1875, then Urban District Councils from 1894 until 1934.

The boundary between Darley and Wensley and Snitterton parishes (now Darley Dale and South Darley parishes) was on Darley Bridge in the centre of the River Derwent until 1934 and a boundary stone was shown there on old OS maps up to 1955. In 1979 it was recorded at the Square & Compass when it was Grade II Listed, details Link (Archive Link ) . The present parishes were both created in 1980. See also Link.
