Stone Bridge, Holywell Dene
Stone Bridge, Holywell Dene
This attractive stone built, single arch bridge carries the private road, leading from Hartley Lane (B1325), to Hartley West Farm whilst the Seaton Burn slips quietly by beneath it. The bridge can be seen from the opposite side at Link. Built in the mid 18th century, the bridge consists of squared stone and a segmental arch with the walls of the abutments having a slight batter. The band below the parapet, which has low gabled coping, terminates in piers with low pyramidal caps. It is Grade II Listed.
