Geograph - photograph every grid square

A narrow footpath leads from the centre of Sancreed village to the Holy Well just over a quarter of a mile (c.500m) west of the village. The path is overgrown and not entirely obvious in places especially as you near the ancient monument. In particular when you arrive at a stile you need to take the narrow path into woodland to the right, not take the stile into the field (which is another footpath).
The ancient monument consists of three Grade II listed structures within an area classed as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
The components are:
a) The mediæval Holy Well itself which is a granite structure with a steep flight of stone steps leading down into the well which is fed by a natural spring. EH Listing: Link
b) Baptistry - A ruinous small rectangular mediæval building with walls up to c. 3' (1m) high immediately to the north of the well. EH Listing Link
c) Stone memorial - A wheel-head dressed granite cross by John Stona dating from 1910 - based presumably on SW4229 : Sancreed - Wheel-head cross by path south of church in the churchyard of Sancreed church. EH Listing: Link
