Passageway off Northumberland Street, Alnmouth
Passageway off Northumberland Street, Alnmouth
This passageway leads to Waleric House along with Northumberland Mews, Pilot's Rest and Pilot's Cottage. The Norman Baron of Alnwick laid out a new town in the early 12th century and called it Saint Waleric after the saint to whom the church was dedicated. The name Waleric House is therefore a nod to this very distant past.
