Three arches of the Lambley Viaduct
Three arches of the Lambley Viaduct
The viaduct above the River South Tyne looking south as seen from a footbridge across the river. The bridge was part of the route of the branch railway line from Haltwhistle to Alston and is now in use as a footpath. However at the south end of the structure walkers are forced to leave the railway route and make a descent and a return climb involving many steps as the owners of Station House have a barrier across the original route and do not allow passage - NY6758 : What's beyond the fence?.
