Baltic Chambers, Broad Chare/Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne
This building has undergone substantial changes since it was Grade II Listed in March 1987. It was renovated and extended in 1991 with the addition of the very grand corner tower. Originally built in the early 20th century, Baltic Chambers is essentially that part of the building to the left of the tower which has its frontage on the Quayside and which was built in the Second Empire Classical style (characterized by an eclectic mix of historical styles, particularly the Renaissance and Baroque).
