This handsome property was built in 1883 at a time when wealthy ship owners were moving away from the congested "low town" and building elegant Georgian houses in the likes of nearby Dockwray Square and Northumberland Square. The property has many fine features which make it visually interesting. It has been sympathetically integrated into a newer 1990s housing development in much the same way as 117 Norfolk Street has Link.
