The Dartmouth Steam Railway or the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway, is a 6.7 mile heritage railway on the former Kingswear branch line between Paignton and Kingswear in Torbay. The line opened in 1859, although it wasn't completed until 1864. It closed in 1972.

River Dart

The River Dart rises at Lower White Tor on Dartmoor and flows generally SE to its mouth at Dartmouth. Its valley and surrounding area is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The river's mouth is an excellent example of a Ria (drowned river valley).
