taken 7 months ago, near to South Moor, County Durham, England

Stonechat at Oxhill
Stonechat at Oxhill
This bird is on the field behind the Ox Inn. It is an area of rough grazing with patches of heathland; typical habitat for a Stonechat. This appears to be a recently fledged juvenile. There are scattered small colonies of these birds in the Stanley area; their main stronghold in the county is along the coast.
