Smeaton, Engineer, Burley Road
One of a number of boxes painted by 'Burley Banksy' to resemble football shirts, with the names of famous persons from Leeds (not only footballers). John Smeaton was in fact associated with Whitkirk on the other side of the city SE3633 : St Mary, Whitkirk: Smeaton memorial. He was born in 1724, so the number here is probably intended to mark the 300th anniversary of his birth.
Burley and Kirkstall street art

In the last few years, several urban artists have been painting murals and decorating street furniture in the Burley and Kirkstall area, often with flowers or colourful street scenes. Two in particular deserve mention: Andy McVeigh, specialising in the blue and yellow colours of Leeds United Football Club, uses the tag "Burley Banksy", and Grace Hills who specialises in nature and environmental themes (as well as guerrilla gardening) has featured on TV.
