Wooden Gate Loops
Wooden Gate Loops
There are up and down passenger loops located here on the East Coast Mainline. The loops are bidirectionally signalled with three of the four up direction signals, all with route indication feathers, visible. From left to right are the down loop up exit (A122), the down main up direction signal (A120) and the down main signal (A118). The route indications are for the two crossovers just south of the level crossing. All the signals are controlled by Alnmouth signal box.
East Coast Main Line

The East Coast Main Line is a 393 mile long high speed electrified railway between London and Edinburgh, via Peterborough, Doncaster, York and Newcastle. It was constructed between 1846 & 1871 by several different rail companies.
