Ashlar Head
The rocky sandstone outcrop is called Ashlar Head. A short pedestrian tunnel runs through it to the harbour on the other side. The tunnel was originally built for a tramway used for moving ballast stones to the harbour. Above the tunnel are Sailor's Walk Steps leading up from the harbour to the top, where a walkway (Sailor's Walk) runs along the top of the cliff overlooking the harbour. The steps and the end of the headland were blocked off, due to the state of the unstable cliff. Work was due to start to make this safe at the end of September 2025.
The path is part of the Dysart Town Trail and the Fife Coastal Path.
