The Gamekeepers Cottage, Hodson
The Gamekeepers Cottage, Hodson
This magnificent old thatched cottage was occupied by the gamekeeper on the Burderop estate. The writer Richard Jefferies mentions it in at least two of his books, ''Bevis-the Story of a Boy'' and ''The Gamekeeper at Home''. Later, the biographer of Richard Jefferies, and a WW1 poet, Edward Thomas was so inspired by RJ's writing that he spent his honeymoon in this cottage.
