Great Glen Project Station E
This triangulation pillar does not appear on any maps. It was not part of the retriangulation of Great Britain. This is one of around sixteen such pillars thought to exist around the Great Glen, built c1972 for a measurement project. To date, twelve of these pillars have been found. It is thought that another four are out there somewhere. This pillar has OSBM flush bracket number 11873. The Flush Bracket faces nominally southwest. This pillar took quite a bit of finding. Located in woods at the edge of a narrow fire break. Inchnacardoch Forest is a pleasant location, but the view from the survey pillar is now lost to the conifers.
