NY4304 : Gate on the Garburn Road

taken 16 years ago, near to Kentmere, Cumbria, England

Gate on the Garburn Road
Gate on the Garburn Road
East of the summit of Garburn Pass the Garburn Road passes through a gate in a substantial dry stone wall.
The wall forms the parish boundary of Windermere and Bowness to the west and Kentmere to the east. The summit of Buck Crag is in the right background.
The Garburn Road is an old packhorse route linking the Troutbeck and Kentmere valleys.
