Nant-y-moch Reservoir during the 1984 summer drought
Looking north across the reservoir towards Cefn yr Esgair. The low water level is a result of the very dry spring and summer in 1984.

Nant-y-moch Reservoir was created in 1964 as part of the Cwm Rheidol hydroelectric power scheme. Land by the Afon Camdwr was flooded here. LinkExternal link

The image has been scanned from a Kodacolor VR100 negative dating from July or August 1984.

Comparison with a 2024 Streetview image is dramatic. LinkExternal link
