Geograph - photograph every grid square

This is a Grade I Listed weatherboarded post mill on a two storey brick roundhouse. It dates from c1680 and was moved to its current location in 1830 when the round house was added. It was handed over to the Urban District Council for preservation in 1929. The buck is now fixed and no longer revolves. The access to the buck is from the round house - an arrangement from the preservation era.
The middle level of the buck with the two pairs of underdrift stones. The bottom half of the brake wheel and wallower are visible above the stones. Above the wallower is the crown wheel with an auxiliary drive to the left. Top left is the belt pulley and belt to drive the bolter behind the photographer. The ratchet straps stop the sails from turning if the brake slips.
