Remains of the Halifax Moot Hall
Remains of the Halifax Moot Hall
The Moot Hall (a kind of town hall) stood on this site from c.1400, and was of cruck frame construction. It was reconstructed at some time, probably in the 19th century, and demolished in 1957 after falling into disrepair. Only the foundations now remain. Information from an interpretation board on site.
