SK5838 : Trent Basin and Waterside Bridge

taken 1 month ago, near to West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, England

Trent Basin and Waterside Bridge
Trent Basin and Waterside Bridge
Waterside Bridge, linking Lady Bay and West Bridgford on the right bank to the new housing estates off Trent Lane on the left bank, opened on the morning of 2 June 2026 and Nottinghamians not at work were out in force to use and admire it.

In former times there was a lot of freight traffic on the Trent, from the Humber to Gainsborough, Newark and Nottingham, and barges from Hull unloaded here. SK5838 : Nottingham Corporation Warehouse (2009), taken from the Bridgford side of the river, shows what was here before.
