This area was their training ground in World War Two. The Regiment was raised at the request of the then Prime Minister, Winston Churchill.
Commandos from all over, still come here on the eleventh day of the eleventh month by way of a Pilgrimage of Remembrance.
A few years ago, the Commando Association was given the Freedom of Fort William and Lochaber.
