Willow energy crop and Cottam power station
Willow energy crop and Cottam power station
SRC willow is cut after the first season's growth to encourage dense, multi-stem growth. It is harvested after 2-5 years and used in conventional power stations (co-fired with coal) or specialised energy generation units, e.g. farm-scale boilers. Cottam power station, run by EDF Energy, co-fires this crop.
