The Vicar's Pele
The Visitor's Guide to St Andrew's Parish Church says that the tower was built about 1300 as a fortified house for the vicar and his family when danger threatened. It has three floors linked by a stairway inside the walls which are over 4ft thick on the north and south sides. The ground floor is vaulted and would have housed cattle and stores, while the living quarters were on the upper floors. The building is Grade I listed Link
