NZ2563 : Kittiwakes, nesting on the Tyne Bridge

taken 16 years ago, near to Gateshead, England

Kittiwakes, nesting on the Tyne Bridge
Kittiwakes, nesting on the Tyne Bridge
The most inland colony of nesting Kittiwakes in the World, and now apparently under threat from the Council who, because of complaints by local residents about noise and mess, and thinking about netting the bridge - frankly, if you chose to live down the quayside I'd have thought you had enough noise and mess from people to not be bothered by some nesting birds
