The Borders General Hospital
The Borders General Hospital
The BGH was opened in 1988 and serves as a community hospital for the central Borders. With a bed capacity of approximately 330, it provides a comprehensive range of acute inpatient services. The hospital also has a range of supporting services, including - laboratory, pharmacy, physiotherapy and radiology offering C.T. and M.R.I. services. The A6091 Melrose by-pass road is on the right leading up to Broomilees roundabout, and Broomilees Farm is at the top left. This photo was taken from Eildon Mid Hill on a Saturday and it is interesting to note the almost empty car parks. They are filled during the week and at certain times visitors and staff are unable to find a space. This leads to parking on double yellow lines or grass verges and can cause much frustration.
