The Corff house beside the River Beauly
This was where we repaired all the Boats and the nets in the winter.
What is a corff? well it was a floating wooden cage that you kept the Hen and the Cock Salmon in until they were ready to release their eggs for putting up to the Hatchery, some went back to the river some were sold on to the Fish Farms that were just getting started.
when I look back at that times I think that was the down fall of so many Rivers, selling fish that should have gone back to the River that they came from!.
