SP0686 : Central Library, Chamberlain Square

taken 25 years ago, near to Birmingham, England

Central Library, Chamberlain Square
Birmingham Central Library was the busiest public library in Europe and had a unique, if somewhat quirky, design. It was immediately opposite Birmingham Town Hall and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The building was demolished after the new Library of Birmingham opened in 2013. The whole area was redeveloped and now looks strikingly different.
