Japanese Knotweed (leaves)
This shows the leaves and flower buds of the Japanese knotweed at the side of a bridle path with a 20p coin for scale. It is spreading rapidly through Britain due to man's activities. It damages buildings, roads, river banks, archaeological sites and much more. It increases soil erosion , clogs water works, reduces access, is very difficult and expensive to eradicate and it is here now! Have you got any near you?
