St Margaret's church > Link - Link - Link is a large building, extensively restored in the 19th century; its ruined tower was completely rebuilt in 1928-31. Most of the nave seats date from the time of the restoration but there are a few old bench ends with carved poppyheads. Remains of scrollwork can be seen by the north arcade, and there are consecration crosses on either side of the chancel arch, and beside an elaborately carved piscina > Link in the south aisle. The C15 rood screen dado has 8 painted panels, depicting the Four Latin Doctors on the north side and four female saints > Link on the south. The elaborately carved font > Link which is decorated with an animal frieze dates from the 15th century. The church is open every day. See also: LinkExternal link
