NZ1782 : Road through Gubeon Plantations

Road through Gubeon Plantations
Road through Gubeon Plantations
Taken from just east of the '107' spot height facing east. Very expensive houses nestle almost invisibly in the trees on either side of the road. A 'Sir Hugh Gubyon' was Sherriff and Keeper of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1292-4 and although he is associated with Tudhoe in County Durham the name is so rare that there must be some connection here too.
