0-6-0 Diesel Locomotive "Dick Hardy"
0-6-0 Diesel Locomotive "Dick Hardy"
Brighton Station. An 0-6-0 diesel locomotive in Inter City colours named "Dick Hardy" in honour of R H N Hardy, Shedmaster at Stewarts Lane (a former LBSC Railway locomotive shed) but in British Railways Southern Region days. This little locomotive looked like it was scheduled to head a long train, however it was only the local station shunter (switcher) for the day, the train awaiting a more powerful Diesel Electric locomotive on the other end. I can only date this picture to some time in the early 1990s.
