taken 17 years ago, near to Carlisle, Cumbria, England

Hadrian's Wall National Trail at Carlisle
Hadrian's Wall National Trail at Carlisle
A rather dreary section of the Hadrians Wall National Trail which runs 84 miles from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend LinkExternal link as it follows the banks of the River Eden through Carlisle. The river banks hereabouts have been overgrown with Himalayan balsam.
