Capel Horeb, Penmynydd
Capel Horeb, Penmynydd
Situated on a quiet lane, away from the main road, Capel Horeb has been written off as a converted chapel not only on Geograph but also by the OS. It's not hard to see why, it does not look in any way like the traditional Welsh Victorian chapel. But Horeb,a Congregationalist chapel, which my paternal grandparents used to attend, is still very much in business. The nearest end of the building is the chapel house. The whole building completed in 1828 cost £180. The Independent or Congregationalist cause (Annibynwyr, in Welsh) in the Penmynydd area dates back to the 1740s.
