Summit cairn, Bakestall

Descending the northern slopes of Skiddaw brings the walker to Bakestall, approaching from this route is unusual in that one descends to reach the summit cairn. Viewing Bakestall from the north in Dash valley it appears as a mountain in its own right and not just a shoulder of Skiddaw. Blencathra can be seen in the background.
