NO3795 : Underneath the Arches NO3795 : River Dee, Ballater NO3795 : River Dee at Ballater NO3795 : Bridge over the River Dee, Ballater NO3795 : Ballater 'Royal Bridge'Just downstream (northeast) of the 'Royal Bridge' there are three 'islets' in positions that suggest they could have been the foundations of the first stone bridge of 1783. That was 100yards downstream of the present bridge, but was destroyed by floods in 1789. Or is there another explanation for the position of the three islands in line with the current bridge supports?
