Two specialist ships in the Musgrave Channel in Belfast docks, seen below the towering cranes 'Samson' and 'Goliath' in the Harland and Wolff building dock.

The large white ship on the right is the 'Resolution' (see also Link ). The ship is used in the construction of offshore windfarms and was in Belfast to collect turbine foundations from Harland and Wolff for an offshore windfarm in the Solway Firth (see LinkExternal link ). Its unusual shape comes from the six 130m legs which, once on site, jacks the vessel out of the water and provides a stable working platform to construct windfarms at sea. See LinkExternal link for some technical info on the Resolution.

To the left of 'Resolution' is the 'Sea Energy' (see also Link ). This is another offshore construction vessel and will be used to construct the middle and top rotor sections of the turbines in the same offshore windfarm.
